Upper Seti Hydropower Project is a 20 MW run of river type scheme located in Machhapuchhre Rural Municpality of Kaski district in Gandaki Province of Nepal. The project will divert 13 cumecs of flow from the Seti River, which will be conveyed through a 2.5 km long headrace tunnel and a 428 m long penstock to the powerhouse. The project has gross head of 183 m.
The detail engineering design of this project is currently being carried out by Jade Consult. Upper Seti Hydro Pvt. Ltd. is the developer of this project.
This is one of the most accessible projects presently under study. There is an existing 20 km all-weather motorable road up to Kharpani, and additional 6 km fair weather road up to Jimerbari. Headworks of the project is 5 km from Jimerbari which the project is planning to start excavating from the beginning of 2020.
