Karmadev (Indo-Nepal Border) – Phukot (Kalikot) 400 kV Double Circuit Karnali Corridor Transmission Line Project is located at 4 districts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province that is envisaged to evacuate the power generated in the Karnali Corridor. It includes 400 kV double circuit HVAC transmission line and associated GIS substations in Betan and Phukot. This project is one of the corridor for the cross-border power transmission with India identified in the Transmission System Development Plan of Nepal.
Detailed engineering and environmental study of the project is being carried out by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in association with Jade Consult Pvt Ltd. Rastriya Prasaran Grid Company Limited (RPGCL) of Nepal is the owner of this project.
The proposed alignment passes through three municipalities (Bhajani, Panchedewal Binayak and Kamalbazar) and seven rural municipalities (Sanni Tribeni, Narharinath, Turmakhand, Chaukane, Mohanyal, Bardogoria and Joshipur) of Kalikot, Achham, Surkhet and Kailali districts.
I have been involved in this project to carry out engineering geological mapping of entire route. I’m also responsible for carrying out planning, monitoring and supervision of all geotechnical investigation for tower foundation design that consists of core drilling, auger drilling, test pitting and earth resistivity tests, and their associated laboratory tests.
